You’re a large family, a group of families, or a big group of friends. In fact, Green Sky Cabin is ideal for groups of up to 14 people.
This Wisconsin cabin is also for those who value privacy, space, lake access, being surrounded by “deep woods”, and your choice of a dazzling variety of activities!
The cabin is NOT for you if you require a lake view.
Instead, we have a private trail through the woods that leads to our 50’ of frontage on Big St. Germain Lake.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
This cabin rental features 11 total beds, 4 bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms, distributed throughout the house:
- Upstairs: Bedroom with 2 queen beds
- Main level: Bedroom with 1 king bed
- Lower Level: Bedroom with 2 double beds
- Lower Level-Rec Room: 2 twin beds
- Bonus Loft Bedroom: 4 twin beds
The bonus loft bedroom is accessed through stairs in the attached garage. It’s a great place for kids or teens to hang out and sleep.
Common areas
Meals, games, gathering… hanging out and sharing stories… you can do it all in our large, bright common areas.
The main living room is a perfect gathering place, with a large open layout, lots of windows, and open access to a modern kitchen. The kitchen table is ideal for a big family meal.
The kitchen is well-lit and features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
It’s fully stocked with everything you’ll need for meal prep, from cooking oil to sugar and spices. You’ll also find a toaster, pots and pans, a coffee maker, a dishwasher, kitchen towels, rags, and cleaning products.
There’s an extra full-sized refrigerator in the laundry room for additional food storage space.

Cabin Rental Amenities
Your stay at the cabin will be a comfortable one… we have ALL the modern conveniences. Unlike other Northwood Wisconsin cabins, you won’t have to look for a laundromat.

Indoor Climate Control
Green Sky Cabin is a four-season home. The cabin features hydronic heat and new wall-mounted air conditioning units.

Fireplace
There’s a fireplace so you can stay cozy and have the classic winter cabin experience.

Bedding and Laundry
As of mid-2023, our beds feature new mattress encasements and all-new bedding. We provide all of the bedding, blankets, pillows, and towels.
A large, well-lit laundry room with washer and dryer is available for our guests to use.

Cleaning and Maintenance
The cabin is professionally cleaned after each rental. We also have cleaning supplies available for you to help keep our beautiful cabin clean.
Our grounds are also professionally maintained. That includes the trail to the lake and snow removal in winter.

Parking Areas
Our driveway has ample room for parking, boat trailers and snowmobile trailers. There is room for 8+ vehicles and still plenty of room for trailers.

Entertainment
Two large flat-screen Smart TVs and high-speed internet/Wi-Fi are provided for our guests. Each bedroom (except the basement bedroom) has a TV in it as well.
You’ll also find air hockey and foosball in our basement rec room as well as a nice assortment of board games.

Kid Friendly Stuff
You’ll find kids’ books and toys. Outlet covers and baby safety gates help keep your littlest ones safe.
A supply of children’s dinnerware means you’re covered if you forget it – or just don’t feel like bringing it in the first place!
We also have a high chair and pack and play ready for your little one.

Dog Friendly
We allow 2 dogs. The fee for dogs is an additional $30 per night (up to 2 dogs), and you are responsible for any and all damage.
PLEASE be respectful of the property. The only way we can allow dogs is if owners are responsible and respectful. If your dog likes to chew up couches or hasn’t mastered potty training, please don’t bring that dog. We provide dog beds and plenty of supplies for you to clean up after your pet.
What You’ll Find Outdoors
As of 2022, there’s a large, new deck, with a big table and a screened-in porch, both accessible from the main floor.
With the cabin rental, we provide both a charcoal and gas grill for grilling, complete with grill tools. Of course, there’s also a fire pit for campfires and smores, paired with seating and a picnic table.
The trail down to the lake is a nice 8-10 minute walk. The trail is compacted dirt and well-maintained.
Take a Private Trail to the Lake
Nine acres mean complete privacy from neighbors. This unique property features a private trail through the woods to 50 feet of lake frontage on Big St. Germain Lake.
Or take our 2 golf carts! One is a 4-seater and the other is a 2-seater with storage on the back for coolers, bags, etc.
The golf cart rides are super fun. Keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife, including deer, pheasant, fox, and more.
50 Feet of Lake Frontage
Big St. Germain Lake is a 1622-acre lake that features some of the best fishing in the Northwoods if you’re into that… and endless family fun even if you’re not!
Enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking, boating, or canoeing.
Lake access features a gentle slope to a sandy shoreline, great for swimming.
A huge, new dock was installed in 2022 and allows room to tie up your boats or rentals. Our beach area features a picnic table and multiple benches on the dock.
We share the 50 feet of frontage with a friendly retired couple who keep their pontoon tied up on our dock. (So expect to see a pontoon tied up to the dock during the boating season.)
Our cabin rental guests get to use our 2 kayaks. You can also rent a fishing boat from us if interested.
St. Germain: A Northwoods Paradise
St. Germain is a classic Northwoods town, located just minutes from your Wisconsin cabin.
Turns out the area is also a Northwoods paradise, featuring access to some of the best outdoor recreation in northern Wisconsin.
Green Sky Cabin’s location is incredibly convenient. You can walk to the golf course and multiple restaurants right from the cabin.
If you’re into biking, the Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail crosses the driveway and provides access to 52+ miles of paved trails that connect St. Germain, Sayner, Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, and Mercer.
You’ll also find:

St. Germain Golf Club is located across the street from the cabin. A beautiful Northwoods golf course carved out of the forest, there are no homes on the course and no overlapping holes. (Instead, you’ll find lots of wildlife.)
Water Sports
Vilas County, the home of St. Germain, is home to more than 1,300 lakes and 73 rivers and streams… Including Big St. Germain Lake, the legendary Northwoods lake you’ll have private access to during your stay.
Big St. Germain Lake is large enough for all kinds of water sports. Kayaking, jet skiing, swimming, water skiing, tubing, or just hanging out in a boat all day… It’s all on the menu!
Fishing
Green Sky Cabin is in the ideal location for getting to all the nearby lakes for fishing.
In the waters of Big St. Germain alone you’ll find endless fishing opportunities. Those include access to trophy musky, excellent walleye and smallmouth bass, panfish, northern pike, and trout fisheries.
Snow Sports
This cabin rental is a GREAT place for snow sports…
In the winter the Bo-Boen snowmobile trails are accessible from the property (trail pass required.)
You’ve got snowshoeing, and cross-country ski trails in the area. Opportunities for ice-fishing also abound.
Warm Weather Activities
Access the Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail System from the driveway of our Wisconsin cabin. That’s 52 miles of paved trails for your cruising pleasure.
There are also plenty of ATV trails in the area and 245,000 acres of public hunting land in Vilas County.
Hiking and animal and bird-watching mean there’s an activity for everyone in your party to enjoy.
